A&O Shearman welcomes debt finance partner Christopher Kwan in New York

A&O Shearman today announced that Christopher (Chris) Kwan has joined as a partner in its U.S. Debt Finance practice in New York, further enhancing the firm’s leveraged finance and private credit capabilities and supporting the firm’s continued strategic investment in its global finance offering.

Chris joins from Milbank and brings more than a decade of experience in leveraged finance and private credit, advising direct lenders, financial institutions, investment funds, and corporate borrowers, on a variety of senior financing transactions.

His practice includes representing underwriters, arrangers, agents, and lenders in domestic and cross-border leveraged finance transactions, acquisition financings, asset-based and cash-flow working capital facilities, secured and unsecured loan and bridge commitments, syndicated exit financings, and other senior secured and unsecured financing transactions.

“Chris’ arrival further enhances our leading leveraged finance and private credit capabilities. His extensive experience adds significant depth to our platform and positions us even more strongly to advise on the market’s most significant financings.”

Jake Mincemoyer, global co-head of Debt Finance at A&O Shearman, added: “Chris brings strong lender-side execution capability and private credit experience that directly complement our team. His ability to handle complex debt financings will be an asset as we continue to grow the practice.”

“A&O Shearman’s unparalleled scale and global platform and commitment to growing its U.S. leveraged finance and private credit capabilities made this an exciting opportunity. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to deliver best-in-class financing solutions for our clients.”
