He represents private credit funds, commercial and investment banks, and other non-bank lenders on private and syndicated financings. Jake has extensive experience in a wide range of financing transactions, including domestic and cross-border acquisition finance, investment-grade facilities, asset-based lending facilities, bridge facilities, liability management transactions, DIP financings and restructurings. As a lead member of the global Capital Solutions team, Jake regularly advises investors on structuring and optimizing financing solutions across the full capital stack, including senior secured loans, unitranche financings (including “agreements among lenders”), subordinated debt, and hybrid and equity capital. He partners with clients to navigate complex funding requirements and strategic objectives in both conventional financing transactions and special situations.
Jake has wide experience across the leveraged finance and private credit markets and is well versed in evolving market trends and transaction terms. He advises clients on a broad range of strategies, including venture debt, direct lending, asset-based lending, specialty finance, subordinated debt, special situations, and distressed debt investments, in both syndicated and non-syndicated financings. His practice includes work for many of the most active participants in the private credit market, a segment in which A&O Shearman advises over 80% of Private Debt Investor's 2025 top 100 private credit firms.
