A&O Shearman advises Prosus on its investment in Alan
A&O Shearman advised Prosus, as lead investor, on a EUR480 million fundraising round completed by Alan, a European player in health insurance, valuing the company at EUR5.5 billion.

Listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, Prosus is investing EUR400m as part of this round, completed alongside new and existing investors.

This transaction allows Prosus to strengthen its exposure to the healthtech sector, against a backdrop of rapid transformation of health services driven by artificial intelligence technologies. By relying on a platform combining insurance, prevention, and access to care, Prosus intends to support the development of next-generation health solutions, meeting growing demand for digital services in the medical and insurance sectors.

The funds raised will notably support Alan's international development and accelerate the rollout of its technology solutions. Founded in 2016, the company is part of this innovation momentum, with an established presence across several jurisdictions.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to obtaining French regulatory approvals.

“We are delighted to have once again supported Prosus, following the acquisition of La Centrale in 2025, this time as lead investor on a strategic transaction in the healthtech sector. It also reflects the momentum of the healthtech sector and the growing role of artificial intelligence technologies in the transformation of healthcare services”.
