A&O Shearman represented the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in connection with its offering of USD800 million aggregate principal amount of 6.200% Notes due 2038.

The Republic intends to use the proceeds from the offering to refinance its 4.50% Notes due 2026 and for general budgetary purposes.

The A&O Shearman team was led by New York-based Capital Markets partners Manuel Orillac and Alejandro A. Gordano, alongside Sao Paulo-based associate Marina Mendes Correa, New York-based law clerk Ayako Naruke, and paralegal Lilli Duberstein. Support was provided by Tax partner Lorenz Haselberger and associate Edgardo Martinez Gastelum, London-based Financial Regulatory partner Thomas Donegan, and associate Imane Rhammaz.
