A&O Shearman advises banking syndicate on EUR500 million subordinated debt

A&O Shearman has advised a banking syndicate, including Natixis as global coordinator, on the issuance of subordinated notes placed with institutional investors by the mutual insurance group Groupama, for an amount of EUR500m.

The notes have a ten-year maturity and carry an annual coupon of 4.375%. They are listed on Euronext Paris.

The purpose of this transaction was to take advantage of current supportive market conditions to optimize the group's capital structure.

The A&O Shearman team was composed of partner Julien Sébastien, counsel Soline Louvigny, and associate Bianca Nitu on the capital markets aspects, with partner Mathieu Vignon and senior associate Virginie Chatté on tax aspects.
