Nick Jackson

Counsel

Nick provides advice throughout the project procurement process on a broad range of international projects in sectors including petrochemicals; rail; district energy; education; hospitals and large scale developments.

Nick advises project sponsors on the appointment of consultants and contractors and undertakes due diligence on behalf of banks and investors providing financing to projects. He has over 20 years experience and was based in our Abu Dhabi office for 13 years.

Following his degree, Nick gained a number of years of on-site experience on large civil engineering projects, including the first PPP road in the UK before qualifying as a solicitor.

Nick has a degree in quantity surveying from Salford University.

Representative matters

  • The vendors on the sale of their interests in various rolling stock projects in the UK.
  • The sponsors on the procurement of a ‘first in country’ railway in the UAE and drafting and negotiating the haulage terms and conditions for the principal customer.
  • The investor in the acquisition of a synthetic oil refinery in Europe in relation to the negotiation of the terms of the processing agreement and related offtake agreements.
  • The sponsors in relation to the procurement of a new oil refinery in Oman.
  • The concession grantor on the drafting and negotiation of a concession agreement for a district cooling project for key infrastructure in Dubai.
