Senior Associate

Luke is a Senior Associate in the Debt Finance Group, with a focus on leveraged finance transactions and other event-driven financings (particularly in the sport industry).
He has experience acting principally for lenders (mainly private credit funds) on sponsor-backed acquisition finance. 
 
Luke has previously spent 6 months at a global financial institution on secondment in their legal team in London and 11 months on secondment in their corporate credit team supporting ALF transactions.

  • The mandated lead arrangers on the financing supporting the EUR2.3 billion acquisition by Apollo of Ingenico, Worldline’s payment terminals business. 
  • The debt financing sources supporting the £2.27bn acquisition by ASDA (a portfolio company of TDR and the Issa brothers) of EG Group’s UK and Ireland business. 
  • The private credit lenders supporting the €2.9bn acquisition by Cinven of Idealista, Spain's leading real estate portal.
  • HPS Investment Partners on the financing supporting CVC’s minority investment into the commercial subsidiary of the Ligue de Football Professionnel, incorporated for the purposes of the commercialisation of the audio-visual rights of the French football league. 
  • The underwriters in connections with the EUR2bn financing by CVC’s investment in La Liga, the top professional football division of the Spanish football league. 
  • A Premier league club in respect of receivable financings related to transfer agreements. 
  • The initial purchasers and mandated lead arrangers on the EUR2.4 billion high yield bond and loan refinancing for Partners Group-owned Emeria (formerly Foncia). 
  • Certain lenders in respect of the refinancing of Technicolor’s existing debt. 
  • The private credit lenders in respect of the refinancing of Sponsor’s portfolio asset containing a group of financial services providers
  • The mandated lead arrangers in respect of a €12.5bn revolving credit facility for a business in the aviation industry 
  • The global co-ordinators in respect of a €12bn multicurrency revolving credit facility for a business in the automotive industry
  • A significant period of time on secondment to a JP Morgan, assisting their credit and leverage finance teams with a range of acquisition focused financings.
