Kotaro has significant experience representing international and Japanese clients on both cross-border and domestic M&A transactions, joint ventures, divestments and general corporate matters.

He is deeply experienced in drafting negotiating key transaction documents, including share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, leveraged finance facilities agreements, and transition services agreements, as well as managing intensive due diligence processes and closings.

Kotaro has previously worked at a major “Big 4” Japanese law firm prior to joining A&O Shearman. He also worked in-house at JIC Capital, a Japanese investment fund, where he engaged in leveraged finance transactions.

Kotaro is fluent in English and Japanese, and is qualified in Japan as a bengoshi.
