A&O Shearman advises Shionogi on its equity investment into, and hearing function collaboration with, Salubritas
A&O Shearman has advised Shionogi & Co., Ltd. (Shionogi) on its equity investment into, and joint research and development agreement with, Salubritas Therapeutics Inc. (Salubritas).

Under the joint research and development agreement, Salubritas and Shionogi will collaborate to develop a therapeutic drug that regenerates hair cells and improves hearing function.

Tokutaka Ito (partner, Tokyo) and Nicole Daley (partner, Boston) led the team advising Shionogi on the equity investment into Salubritas, supported by Kotaro Tsukui (senior associate, Tokyo), Mara Goodman (associate, New York) and James Heaney (associate, Boston).

Jim Ford (partner, London) and Megan McMellon (senior associate, London) led the team advising Shionogi on the joint research and development agreement, supported by Millie Fantham (associate, London) and Bella Gropper (associate, London).
