Jonathan Heeringa

Partner

Jonathan is Managing Partner of the Netherlands and is experienced in both debt capital markets and asset-backed financing transactions. Jonathan has published articles on the European securitisations and co-authored part of The Banking Regulation Guide 2022 (Thomson Reuters, Practical Law) and regularly lectures for the postgraduate course Grotius.

Jonathan advises across the spectrum of debt capital markets, including convertible and exchangeable bond issues, debt programmes and drawdowns, liability management transactions (exchange offers and tender offers), securitisations and covered bond issues. He has a particular interest in corporate hybrid issues, regulatory capital issues by banks and insurance companies and ESG bonds (green/sustainable bonds and sustainability-linked bonds). 

Jonathan has been ranked as a Debt Capital Markets Band 1 lawyer by Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR1000. “Jonathan Heeringa is one of the top choices for both issuers and lead managers for high-value hybrid bond issuances and EMTN programmes” Chambers 2022.

Royal Ahold Delhaize on its inaugural issue of EUR750m 0.875% Notes due September 2024, listed on Euronext Amsterdam.

RNTS Media on the issue by it of EUR50m 5% Senior Convertible Bonds, listed on the Frankfurter Freiverkehr Market.
