Eric advises domestic and international clients on cross-border restructurings and insolvency law as well on related dispute matters.
 

Among his clients are creditors, debtors, the management, shareholders as well as distressed debt investors. 

Eric regularly handles matters of international private law and international procedural law, including international recognition and enforcement. 
Before joining A&O Shearman, Eric worked for over two years as an Attorney in the international litigation and arbitration group of an international law firm.

  • Advising BayWa r.e. AG on the successful completion of its restructuring financing.
  • Advising a leading manufacturer in the chemicals sector and high‑grade technical nylon materials on its financial restructuring.
  • Representation of an international real estate services provider in a post‑restructuring shareholder dispute.
  • Advising an international real estate group in connection with a high‑value construction law dispute against the insolvent general contractor.
  • Advising the bondholders of a listed real estate company, in its capacity as issuer, in connection with the company’s comprehensive financial restructuring.
  • Advising the bondholders of a real estate development company, both prior to and during the issuers' insolvency, and on the subsequent enforcement of security.
  • Advising the investment manager of a Luxembourg real estate development company, in its capacity as bondholder, in relation to a third-party insolvency application, in the issuers' insolvency, and in the subsequent realisation of collateral.
  • Advising a German IT company in DIS conciliation proceedings against a European service provider in connection with an IT outsourcing project (previous firm experience).
  • Representing an international group of sellers, including several European private equity investors, in a DIS arbitration against a UK conglomerate in a post-M&A dispute in the life sciences sector (previous firm experience).
  • Representing a German–Austrian consortium in a DIS arbitration against a sovereign state arising from a failed major project in the IT and transportation sector (previous firm experience).
  • Advising the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection on potential investment arbitration proceedings against Russian state-owned entities (previous firm experience).
  • Representation of a German company in a post M&A litigation and subsequent court-ordered restructuring (previous firm experience).
