Andrew Maryan
Andrew has led projects in various stages of development from initial bid, through financial close and into commercial operation.
His experience extends to all aspects of the value chain for Projects, including project development, project finance and M&A.

Andrew is part of the U.S. Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure practice (ENRI). He has experience representing and advising private equity funds, developers and financial institutions (including private debt, commercial banks and agency lenders) in all aspects of domestic and international energy and infrastructure projects. His experience includes M&A, joint ventures and debt and equity financings, as well as structuring and negotiating supply, construction and offtake arrangements in connection with developing greenfield projects.

Representative matters

  • A large private equity sponsor in connection with preferred equity investments in various data center projects across the United States.
  • A public petroleum and natural gas company with its multi-billion-dollar investment in a joint venture managed by a large private equity sponsor to invest in green and brownfield LNG development projects around the world.
  • A large private equity sponsor in connection with a joint development arrangement to develop, construct and operate a large gas fired power plant adjacent to an in-development data center.
  • The Carlyle Group in its USD700m investment for the creation of a utility scale solar development platform in the United States and related add-on acquisitions.
  • The Carlyle Group with the structuring and documentation of a $2 billion back-leverage and construction financing facility for the construction of a pipeline in Texas.
  • A global alternative investment management firm on the USD824m convertible equity portfolio financing with an electric power and energy infrastructure company for a 2.5 GW renewable energy portfolio, which consists of 13 utility-scale wind and solar assets and approximately 115 MW of integrated battery storage, all of which span the U.S. power markets.
