Amine Bourabiat
Amine is a member of A&O Shearman’s Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure group.

He is specialised in project finance and has extensive experience in energy, infrastructure and export financing in the EMEA region. 

He advises sponsors, commercial lenders, export credit agencies and development finance institutions on a wide range of transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector. He has significant experience in ECA-backed financing in the energy and infrastructure sector.

  • Verkor on the development and financing of its 16 GWh battery manufacturing gigafactory project in France.
  • The lenders on the first BPIAE Garantie des Projets Stratégiques transaction for the development and financing of Verkor Innovation Center. EIB was also a lender. 
  • Air Liquide and Air Liquide Munay Tech Gases on an international financing to develop, construct and operate an additional hydrogen production facility to enable an increase of refinancing capacity at Pavlodar refinery, Kazakhstan.
  • The arrangers on an ECA financing to Trafigura for the purchase of metal and mineral commodities.
  • The arrangers on an ECA financing for Trafigura relation to the purchase of copper cathodes.
  • The international lenders on a EUR1.55bn financing of the Dörtyol–Hassa Highway & Railway project in Turkey.
  • Air Liquide Large Industries South Africa Proprietary Limited on the refinancing of its indebtedness in relation to oxygen and associated gases production business.
  • The lenders on a EUR1,1Bn Bpifrance-covered facility for the design, construction and maintenance of Line1 of the Abidjan Metro.
  • The lenders on the financing of the construction and development by Côte d’Ivoire Terminal of terminal 2 of the Port of Abidjan.
  • The African Development Bank and FMO as senior lenders on the financing to Dedougou Solaire (Qair) to develop, construct and operate a solar PV project in Burkina Faso.
  • The Arab Energy Fund on two facilities for an aggregate value of USD250m to Sonatrach Petroleum Investment Corporation to fund the maintenance of the refinery of Sonatrach Raffineria Italiana in Sicily, Italy and the purchase of crude oil by Sonatrach Raffineria Italiana from Saudi Aramco.
  • The African Development Bank and the commercial lenders on the development, construction and financing of a cement plant in Morocco. 
  • Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) on the financing to be made available by AFC in relation to the Kékéli power thermal plant project in Togo.
  • An international financial institution in relation to an ATI-covered credit facility for the state of Senegal in relation to an emergency water treatment and road system in Diamniadio, Senegal.
  • Africa Global Logistics and Congo Terminal on a EUR230 million financing for the expansion of the container terminal at the Autonomous Port of Pointe Noire. This financing will enable the construction of a new 750-meter linear quay by 2027. This strategic investment, totaling EUR361m, aims to enhance the operational capacity of Congo's sole maritime outlet and support the economic development of the country and the sub-region.
  • A group of financial institution on a EUR 500 million Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) covered facility for ENGIE to support onshore wind energy projects across the globe.
  • The Lenders on a EUR 850 million Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) covered facility for ENGIE to support onshore wind energy projects across the globe.
