Alfonso has wide experience in the capital markets and banking fields with a strong track record of advising on complex and innovative transactions.

He has extensive experience in the securitization of various asset classes, such as mortgages, SMEs, trade receivables, credit cards and auto-loans. He also advises clients in the acquisition, structuring and securitization of RPL and NPL portfolios. He has been involved in some of the most relevant securitization transactions in Spain in recent years, and is recognized as one of the experts in the Spanish market. He also has in-depth knowledge of the securitization regulatory framework, including STS, SRT and CRR.

Alfonso also advises leading financial institutions on asset backed-financings, factoring (both Spanish and pan-European), dealer floor plans, reverse factoring and consumer law issues. He has experience in structuring and negotiating financing solutions for various sectors and industries, and in dealing with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional aspects.

Alfonso also has a solid background in general banking and finance matters, including acquisition, corporate, export and project finance. He has advised on the financing of several high-profile M&A transactions, both domestic and international, and on the development and financing of infrastructure projects.

  • A group of financial institutions as Arrangers, on the establishment of the EUR2bn asset backed debt issuance programme by Columbus master credit cards, Fondo de titulización backed by credit rights arising from credit cards issued to individuals by Servicios Financieros Carrefour, EFC, S.A.
  • A group of financial institutions as Joint Lead Managers on a EUR 1.53bn consumer loan securitization transaction originated by one of the group.
  • A global financial institution as sponsor on a circa EUR640m RMBS transaction backed by mortgage participations and/or mortgage transfer certificates originally issued by Catalunya Banc, S.A. A global financial institution as Arranger and Lead Manager on an EUR300m trade receivables securitization originated by the Gedesco Group.
  • A global financial institution as Arranger and a group of financial institutions as Joint Lead Managers on the EUR400m RMBS transaction sponsored by Blackstone backed by mortgage participations and/or mortgage transfer certificates originally issued by Catalunya Banc, S.A.
  • A global financial institution as Arranger and a group of financial institutions as Joint Lead Managers on the EUR172m RMBS transaction sponsored by Blackstone backed by mortgage participations and/or mortgage transfer certificates originally issued by Catalunya Banc, S.A.
  • A multinational financial institution as Arranger and Lead Manager on a EUR620m auto loan securitization transaction originated by PSA Financial Services Spain, E.F.C., S.A. and made through AUTO ABS SPANISH LOANS 2018-1 FT.
  • Cajamar as Originator on a EUR972.1m SME loans securitization made through BCC CAPITAL 1, FONDO DE TITULIZACIÓN.
  • A group of financial institutions as Joint Lead Managers on the issuance of the EUR181m 2019-2 Note Series by Wizink Master Credit Cards, Fondo de Titulización backed by credit rights arising from credit cards issued to individuals by Wizink Bank, S.A.U.
  • A multinational financial institution as Arranger and Lead Manager on a EUR555.5m auto loan securitization transaction originated by a subsidiary of that financial institution and made through a separate subsidiary of that financial institution.
  • A multinational financial institution as Arranger and Lead Manager on a EUR605,100,000 auto loan securitization transaction originated by PSA Financial Services Spain, E.F.C., S.A. and made through AUTO ABS SPANISH LOANS 2020-1 FT.
  • A multinational financial institution as Arranger and a group of financial institutions as Joint Lead Managers on a EUR525,200,000 auto loan securitization transaction originated by a subsidiary of that multinational financial institution and made through a separate subsidiary of that institution.
  • A group of financial institutions as Arrangers and Joint Lead Managers on a EUR515,500,000 mortagage loan securitization transaction originated by UCI and made FT Fondo De Titulización, RMBS Prado VII.

Pro bono

  • Advising Fundacion Probono España and a group of law students of the legal clinic of Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in relation to a project for a new regulation for the reverse mortgage in Spain in relation to the Desafío Pro Bono España 2023-2024 (I Edición).
