A&O Shearman advises Volcan on bond reopening
A&O Shearman advised Peruvian mining company Volcan Compañía Minera S.A.A. on the reopening of its 8.500% Senior Secured Notes due 2032. The transaction involved the issuance of an additional USD220 million in principal amount, to be consolidated and form a single series with the original USD750m in principal amount previously issued.

Volcan is a Peruvian polymetallic mining company with operations and assets located in the central mountains of the Peruvian Andes, whose portfolio includes zinc, lead, silver, and other critical minerals essential to modern technology and sustainable development worldwide. 

The A&O Shearman team was led by New York-based capital markets partner Alejandro A. Gordano, with support from tax partner Lorenz Haselberger, and associates Gabriela Laufer, Hunter Steitle, Pedro de Elizalde, and Daniel Kachmar.
