A&O Shearman represents Zopa on debut listed bond issuance

A&O Shearman represents Zopa on debut listed bond issuance
A&O Shearman has advised Zopa Group Limited, the UK bank, on its issue of GBP80 million Fixed Rate Reset Perpetual Additional Tier 1 Write Down Capital Securities. The securities have been listed on the International Securities market of the London Stock Exchange.
Zopa has been a pioneering force in finance since 2005, when they built the first ever peer-to-peer (P2P) lending company. Zopa has said they will use the funds to strengthen their balance sheet without diluting shareholders as they prepare to enter everyday banking with the imminent launch of their flagship bank account.

“We are delighted to have advised Zopa on its first listed bond issuance. The A&O Shearman team were able to bring together their wealth of experience in the regulatory capital space.”
