A&O Shearman represents initial purchasers on Tecpetrol’s benchmark USD750 million bond offering

A&O Shearman advised the initial purchasers in connection with Tecpetrol S.A.’s offering of USD750m 7.625% Notes due 2030—the first international issuance by an Argentine corporate since the October mid-term elections, a milestone for Argentina’s re-engagement with global capital markets.

Tecpetrol is a leading participant in Argentina’s oil and gas market and the second-largest holder of wet gas acreage in Vaca Muerta, one of the world’s leading shale formations. Tecpetrol is a member of the Techint Group, which operates globally across steel manufacturing, engineering and construction, oil and gas, and related services.

“Bringing the first Argentine corporate deal to the international markets post-elections was a strong indicator of investor confidence,” said Alejandro A. Gordano, A&O Shearman lead partner. “We were delighted to once more leverage our firm’s cross-border acumen for such a significant bond offering.”

The A&O Shearman team was led by New York-based capital markets partner Alejandro A. Gordano, alongside associate Hugo Casella, visiting attorney Moises Gonzalez and business analyst Anika Pemmaraju, with tax support from partner Lorenz Haselberger and associate Daniel Kachmar.
