A&O Shearman advises on the Commonwealth of The Bahamas USD1.067 billion bond offering and tender offer
A&O Shearman advised the initial purchasers and dealer managers in connection with the Commonwealth of The Bahamas’ offering of USD1.067bn 8.250% notes due 2036, and a concurrent cash tender offer for several series of existing notes.

The Commonwealth of The Bahamas intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes to fund the purchase of the tendered notes with any remaining proceeds to fund national development objectives including infrastructure development projects.

A&O Shearman recently advised the Republic of Chile in connection with its USD—denominated and EUR—denominated bond offerings, and the underwriters in connection with the USD—denominated bond offering and cash tender offer by the Republic of Uruguay.
