A&O Shearman advises on EUR630 million digital infrastructure credit risk transfer transactions
A&O Shearman has advised on two credit risk transfer transactions referencing single loans having an aggregate notional amount of approx. EUR 630 million.

The underlying exposures are owed by two leading digital infrastructure providers. Funds managed by Golub Capital have provided credit protection in respect of a portion of such loans.

The A&O Shearman team was led by partner Pietro Bellone and comprised counsel Robert Simmons and senior associates Giovanni Chiarli and Martina Gullino. Partner James Bryson provided assistance on U.S. aspects. Counsel Elia Ferdinando Clarizia handled tax matters.

“In a constantly evolving SRT market, the transfer of credit risk on single-name exposures is assuming an increasingly central role. This is particularly relevant in the infrastructure sector, especially digital infrastructure, where banks need to reduce concentration risk vis-à-vis individual borrowers and free up regulatory capital to deploy toward new lending.”
