In the derivatives space, Giovanni advises bank and non-bank clients across a variety of product areas and asset classes, with a particular focus on bespoke OTC funding trades, collateral arrangements, repurchase and securities lending transactions, and has extensive experience in negotiating hedging transactions across all major asset classes.

Giovanni has extensive experience in significant risk transfer transactions (including on-balance sheet securitisations), and represents a range of issuer, arranger and investor clients, including supranational institutions.

Giovanni is also a member of the firm’s Market Innovations Group. Giovanni has been involved in the industry’s implementation of initial and variation margin documentation and wider advice in relation to the application of the uncleared margin rules, including by assisting in the development and implementation of delivery of MarginMatrix (a regulatory compliance and repapering tool, and related joint venture with Deloitte to help several global banks with the negotiation of thousands of contracts). Giovanni was also been involved in advising bank clients on their Brexit transition, including acting for two clients in designing and operating the firm’s online negotiating platform BrexitMatrix (a workflow, document automation and outreach tool for migration of trading documentation to EU entities).
