A&O Shearman advises Fenway Sports Group on strategic minority investment in Liverpool F.C.
A&O Shearman has advised Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Liverpool Football Club on the sale of a minority equity stake in Liverpool F.C. to 1892 Holdings, a consortium led and managed by Amit Bhatia, with investments from Amit Bhatia and the Mittal Family Trusts, K5 Sports (a K5 Global Fund), with Jeff Bezos as the lead investor in the K5 Sports fund, and EE Capital, the family office of Elaine and Eduardo Saverin. 

The strategic investment supports Liverpool F.C.'s long-term growth ambitions by bringing together experts from across global business, technology, and investment. FSG continues to retain majority ownership and operational control of Liverpool F.C. Closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. 

The transaction is the latest high-profile engagement for A&O Shearman's dedicated global sports practice.
