A&O Shearman advises ARRI Group on financial restructuring and sale to Riedel Group
A&O Shearman has comprehensively advised the ARRI Group in connection with the restructuring of its financing arrangements and its sale to the Riedel Group. The advisory mandate centered on the amendment of an existing syndicated credit facility led by BayernLB as well as the structuring and implementation of an ABS financing.

ARRI was founded in 1917 and has been held in family ownership since its inception. Over the decades, the company has established itself as a leading innovator and has been honored with 20 scientific and technical awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Riedel Group, founded by Thomas Riedel, provides fiber-optic, radio, and audio network systems for the broadcast, theater, and sports industries. The company supports live show productions as well as major sporting events for FIFA and the Champions League, and with this acquisition aims to extend its value chain.

Following the acquisition, ARRI will continue to operate independently and will retain its headquarters in Munich. The existing management team will continue to drive the transformation process and pursue new areas of growth together with the Riedel Group.

The A&O Shearman team led by partner Dr. Walter Uebelhoer (Banking & Finance / Restructuring, Munich) comprised partners Dr. Josef Parzinger (Restructuring, Munich) and Dr. Heike Weber (Tax, Frankfurt), senior associates Nils Holzgrefe, Dr. Georg Lütkenhaus and Sebastian Hanke as well as associates Athanasios Giannakakos, Clara Wrede (all Banking & Finance / Restructuring, Munich) and Niklas Kniess (Tax, Frankfurt), with additional support provided by teams from the A&O Shearman offices in London, Luxembourg and New York.
