This year Allen & Overy continues its partnership with the Italian nonprofit organization Sport Senza Frontiere (SSF) by fully supporting its Joy Summer Camp project in Piazzatorre (BG) in Val Brembana. Joy Summer Camp is an impressive project which, since 2017, has welcomed over 1000 children and teenagers experiencing emergency situations or living in poor socio-economic conditions, offering them not only the chance to have fun, but also an educational opportunity.

Alessandro Tappa, president of Sport Senza Frontiere, explained: “Our Joy Project, which comprises Summer Centres (JOY POINT), SUMMER CAMP or JOY NATURE (nature weekend trips), is a concrete answer to the increasingly dire needs of families. Summer is, in a way, the time of year in which there is a higher demand for quality and free educational opportunities for those living in disadvantaged economic conditions or emergency situations.”

Founded in 2011, Sport Senza Frontiere combats poverty and social inequality through projects that use sport as a tool for inclusion, harmonious growth and empowerment of minors who are at risk and/or experience poverty and social marginalisation. In its years of activity, SSF has accompanied, assisted and helped hundreds of children and their families facing socio-economic hardship.

Stefano Sennhauser, Allen & Overy Senior Partner, commented: “Joy Summer Camps are a unique opportunity for children to experience a carefree summer filled with sport and fun. We are proud to partner with Sport Senza Frontiere and support this noteworthy social inclusion project.”
