In-depth: Insurance disputes—Edition 9
We are pleased to confirm our editorship and contribution to the ninth edition of In-Depth: Insurance Disputes, a publication that provides a practical overview of recent developments in insurance disputes across 13 key jurisdictions, covering many of the world's largest economies.

This latest edition explores significant trends shaping the insurance market, including increasing policyholder protections, the impact of artificial intelligence and data on risk assessment, ongoing disputes arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine, evolving cyber risks, and the growth of contingent and litigation risk insurance products.

Each chapter offers:

  • a review of significant cases from the past year
  • an outline of the core legal framework for resolving disputes
  • expert commentary on anticipated trends and future developments
  • an overview of dispute resolution mechanisms within the relevant jurisdiction.

The publication also highlights how courts, arbitration, ombudsman schemes and collective action mechanisms continue to shape the resolution of insurance disputes worldwide.

Russell Butland is the editor of the publication and author of the Preface, as well as co-author of the England and Wales chapter alongside India Jordan and Abigail Witts.

Julie Metois is the author of the France chapter.

Marc Zimmerling and Angelique Pfeiffelmann are the authors of the Germany chapter.
