Zulema’s experience includes advising clients on sustainability-related market disclosure and reporting, including under international frameworks such as the ISSB Standards, the TCFD Framework, and the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive; human rights obligations and modern slavery frameworks, including advising on modern slavery-related disclosures and supply chain due diligence; environmental, regulatory compliance and ESG issues in M&A transactions and ESG due diligence; ESG-related liability exposures, including forward-looking statements and social/greenwashing risk; group corporate governance, including reviewing framework suitability and implementing centralised governance, delegations and reporting models; annual general meeting preparation including proxy and stakeholder engagement; shareholder activism, including in relation to environmental issues and human rights.
Zulema is an Associate in A&O Shearman’s Global Environment, Climate and Regulatory Law Group specialising in corporate governance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) related matters. She has worked with large corporations and financial institutions on a broad range of sustainability-related laws, policies and other initiatives across Australia, the United Kingdom and the European Union.
