Zara is an energy and infrastructure lawyer advising clients on the development, construction, and acquisition of projects globally.

Zara specialises in energy innovation projects across a range of industry sectors, including hydrogen, solar, carbon capture and storage and LNG, with experience in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She also provides general advice on mergers and acquisitions, financing, and commercial matters.

Zara has also spent six months on secondment to A&O Shearman’s Abu Dhabi office.

  • The investor on the hive off of two hydrogen refinery facilities in Saudi Arabia.
  • A leading international energy company on the £890mn disposal by its UK subsidiary of a smart meter asset provider business to a global investment group.
  • The lenders on the $3.2bn Covered Term Facility to be utilised by the borrower for the purposes of the $6.2bn polyolefins complex being developed in Abu Dhabi.

Pro bono

  • Provided corporate support advice to Moree (Bulkify) in preparation for a fundraising round (as part of the Green Tech Legal Collaborative).
  • Assisted a nonprofit on comparative law research to support efforts in tackling emerging new online harms related issues.
  • Mentor young students through A&O Shearman’s award-winning Smart Start program and the Future Frontiers program.
