Yuko’s practice focuses on cross-border dispute matters, private equity and general corporate matters.

She also worked in the Litigation practice in the New York office.  Prior to joining A&O Shearman, Yuko practiced as an attorney at the Tokyo office of a major U.S. law firm.

  • A Japanese individual in an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and other U.S. authorities regarding alleged fraud involving product inspection data.  
  • A U.S. corporation as a plaintiff in U.S. trade secret litigation. 
  • A Japanese corporation as a defendant in U.S. patent litigation. 
  • A leading U.S. financial institution in an investigation by a government authority in the U.S. 
  • A major Japanese manufacturer in a DOJ investigation regarding product inspection data. 
  • An executive of a Japanese automotive parts supplier subject to an antitrust investigation by the DOJ. 
  • Numerous Japanese corporations on compliance issues, including antitrust and anti-corruption matters.

Private equity 
  • Japan Industrial Partners on its offshore fund structuring and fundraising in connection with a JIP-led consortium’s successful tender offer for Toshiba Corporation.
