Simon advises domestic and international on large-scale financial restructuring transactions and insolvency proceedings, with a particular focus on cross-border matters and complex structures.
His clients include German and international banks, financial institutions, investors and corporates. Simon specialises in consensual out-of-court restructurings, guiding clients through the preparation, negotiation and implementation of comprehensive restructuring concepts for major financing transactions. 

He also represents creditors in formal insolvency and in-court restructuring proceedings involving multinational groups, advising on German insolvency law implications. In addition, Simon counsels foreign stakeholders navigating distressed debt situations and restructuring financings with exposure to German group entities. 

Simon has an extensive experience advising syndicated lenders, corporates and other stakeholders on syndicated loans for borrowers in financial distress and managing such large-scale transactions from the legal advisor perspective.

  • GERRY WEBER International AG on its comprehensive corporate and financial restructuring, including self-administration, insolvency plan and StaRUG proceedings, as well as on ongoing financing and corporate law matters. 
  • A European banking syndicate on the insolvency of the German and UK Fintyre companies as well as the restructuring of the Italian branch of the Fintyre Group
