He has drafted motions, briefs, and pleadings at every level of the federal court system, and in multiple state courts, addressing a wide variety of legal issues and substantive areas of law. Sam also maintains an active pro bono practice focusing on constitutional law. He represented a group of prominent history professors in support of a First Amendment challenge to the revocation of White House press passes. He also assists a university’s gun-violence prevention clinic in drafting briefs and pleadings in state and federal court.
Sam is a former federal law clerk to Judge Cynthia A. Bashant of the Southern District of California and Judge Henry B. Pitman of the Southern District of New York.
