Sam qualified into the firm's Pensions team in September 2016, having trained with the firm.

Sam advises both trustees and companies on a range of contentious and non-contentious issues and has worked on a variety of pensions transactions, including pensionable pay caps, scheme closures, de-mergers and transfers to master trusts.

Sam has advised trustee clients on long-running employer debt and GDPR projects, as well as on contingent asset structures and changes of administrator. He has also advised on member complaints, at both IDRP and Pensions Ombudsman level.

Sam also has experience of advising on corporate transactions for both buyers and sellers and recently on a number of de-risking transactions acting for both companies and insurers. He also regularly gives trustee training on a variety of topics.

Sam is a member of both the Society of Pension Professionals’ Member Services Committee and the Association of Pension Lawyers’ Education and Seminars sub-committee.
