Rhea advises and represents national and international companies in all areas of in-court and out-of-court dispute resolution, particularly in commercial and corporate law disputes.
The primary focus of her work relates to disputes in the area of professional liability, including possible implications under insurance law. Rhea regularly acts for professional service firms (particularly audit firms) as well as for insurance companies. She also represents professionals in proceedings conducted by regulatory bodies.

Experience

Representative matters

  • The client in connection with alleged claims for damages of approx. EUR 1,5 bn brought by an insolvency administrator for alleged breaches of professional duties in connection with the client’s work for a former DAX-listed company.
  • A major international accounting firm against claims for damages of more than EUR 500 m resulting from alleged breaches of duty in connection with a restructuring report for a major German corporation, including related information claim proceedings.
  • A former director of an international plant manufacturer in a D&O dispute worth EUR 12m about alleged breaches of duty relating to the building of a highly modern cloud data center.
  • An international insurance company acting as D&O-insurer of an insolvent German furniture manufacturer with regard to potential D&O claims against members of the management and supervisory boards of numerous subsidiaries in the amount of approx. EUR 1,5 bn.
  • A major international accounting firm as well as individual professionals in relation to proceedings initiated by the supervisory authority regarding an alleged non-compliance with EU-regulations in connection with the audit for an internationally operating company in the entertainment industry.

Pro bono

  • Supporting an international NGO in relation to applications of vulnerable Afghan citizens under the German Federal Admission Programme for Afghanistan (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm für Afghanistan).
