Piers has experience advising a range of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies at all stages of the investment cycle, including leveraged buy-outs, platform M&A and management incentive plans both to corporates and other private equity sponsors.

Experience

Representative matters

  • Apax Partners LLP (Apax) on its acquisition of the professional services unit from Evelyn Partners. The transaction will carve-out the professional services business from Evelyn Partners, who will continue to operate their financial services and wealth management business post-completion.
  • Advising Apollo, alongside consortium partner Rettig Oy Ab, in its acquisition of Purmo Group (HEL: PURMO) (previous firm experience).
  • Advising Stonepeak on its agreement with the AA, the leading provider of roadside assistance services in the UK and a successful insurance business, and the AA’s majority shareholders, TowerBrook Capital Partners and Warburg Pincus. Per the agreement, Stonepeak will invest £450 million in the AA through a combination of common and preferred equity at an enterprise value of approximately £4 billion (previous firm experience).
  • One Equity Partners and Buckthorn Partners in their acquisition of Acteon Group, the international offshore energy infrastructure services business, from entities controlled and/or advised by KKR (previous firm experience).
