Maxime is a dispute lawyer specialized in business litigation.

He is an associate in our Dispute Resolution Group based in Paris. Maxime’s practice focuses primarily on complex litigation matters, including corporate litigation, commercial disputes and cross-border disputes. Maxime advises major companies and financial institutions, and represents them before French courts.
 
Before joining Allen & Overy, Maxime worked for several years at leading international law firms as well as at a French Court.

Representative matters

  • Acting for a major oil company in one of the first climate change-related duty of vigilance cases before the Paris Judicial Court, the Paris Court of Appeal (admissibility issues), and on the merits. 
    International litigation 
  • Representing an arbitral institution in proceedings initiated by a Czech company, former party to an arbitration, seeking liability for alleged failure to disclose information raising doubts on an arbitrator’s impartiality (over EUR 1 billion at stake). 
  • Defending a UK investment bank in annulment proceedings initiated before French courts by the former CEO of the borrower, alleging fraud in a loan agreement governed by English law (EUR 70 million at stake). 
  • Assisting an aircraft manufacturer and an engine producer in several product liability cases brought before Cameroonian courts following air crashes (EUR 200 million at stake). 
    Corporate dispute 
  • Acting for an investment fund in connection with the abrupt termination of a share purchase agreement prior to closing, obtaining emergency relief to maintain the validity of the agreement. 
    Commercial litigation 
  • Representing a leading electronics company before the Paris Commercial Court in a liability claim initiated by a former business partner alleging responsibility for its bankruptcy (EUR 18 million at stake).
