He has acted for both sponsors, borrowers and lenders in multiple domestic and cross-border transactions. Max works with major domestic and international clients, such as companies, banks and PE houses.

He joined A&O Shearman in 2025 after graduating with a master’s degree (LL.M.) in Jurisprudence and Philosophy of Law (cum laude) from Leiden University and a master’s degree (MSc) in Business Administration, Management from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition, Max completed graduate education in International Relations at Sciences Po Paris and obtained bachelor’s degrees in Law and Tax Law from Leiden University. During his studies, Max obtained practical experience at several international law and consultancy firms, as well as at the European Commission and the Netherlands Embassy in France.
