Marik advises on all aspects of competition law, with particular emphasis on civil and administrative litigation in the field of EU law, Dutch and EU competition and consumer law, including the Digital Markets Act, and regulated markets.
He has extensive experience in administrative proceedings before the Dutch courts relating to infringement decisions in regulated markets, behavioural antitrust matters and merger control decisions. Marik also advises and litigates in civil competition law matters, such as cartel damages litigation, stand-alone claims and follow-on litigation, as well as mass claims under the Dutch Act on Collective Actions (WAMCA). He has acted in proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union, including multiple preliminary reference proceedings. Marik has a particular sector focus on the digital economy and online platforms. In addition, he has broad experience in merger control, including large multi-jurisdictional filings across Europe and the rest of the world, complex phase II proceedings and remedy negotiations.

Marik joined the firm in 2020 after graduating from Utrecht University with an LL.B. in Dutch law (honours, cum laude) and an LL.M. in European Law (summa cum laude). As part of his undergraduate studies, he spent an academic year at Downing College, University of Cambridge. Marik contributes to the field through publications, guest lectures and as an LL.M. thesis supervisor.
