With over 20 years’ experience, Marianne advises lenders and borrowers on complex cross-border debt finance transactions. Her practice spans the full spectrum of general corporate lending, trade and commodity finance, acquisition finance and fund finance.
Marianne is particularly experienced in multi-jurisdictional and emerging markets transactions. Besides to banking, she has also experience in a wide range of international commercial and corporate transactions in a variety of sectors. Within A&O Sherman, she is an active contributor to the Latin America practice, co-heads the firm’s internal Lusophone Network, and serves on the Financial Services Committee of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce for Great Britain.

  • A multinational steel manufacturing corporation in connection with an inaugural JPY70.5bn ninja loan made available by an Asian syndicate of lenders, with leading Japanese banks as coordinators 
  • A major US bank in connection with a USD100m funded participation to a USD1.2bn prepayment facility relating to an oil and gas asset in Brazil 
  • The arrangers in connection with the refinancing of a EUR500m term loan facility agreement made available to a multinational data centre borrower 
  • The arrangers in connection with the refinancing of a EUR120m term loan agreement available to a large Latin American label manufacturer
  • A Premier League football club in connection with various receivables purchase agreements with a number of international financial institutions

  • Advising a not-for-profit Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) and registered charity in the UK that provides small, affordable loans to low-income households, in connection with its secured facility agreements
