Maria-Therese Bless

Associate

Maria has deep expertise in German and EU regulatory frameworks, with a particular focus on the digital transformation of financial markets.

She advises banks, investment firms, payment and e money institutions, FinTechs, and other market participants – both regulated and unregulated – on the full spectrum of authorization, conduct, and compliance issues, often in complex cross border and multi jurisdictional settings.

Maria’s work focuses on financial institutions seeking to establish innovative digital business models. Among other matters, she advises on DLT based infrastructures and digital assets, including under the German Electronic Securities Act and MiCAR. She closely tracks international developments – especially in the crypto-asset and tokenization space – to navigate cross border implications and alignment with evolving supervisory expectations across Europe and beyond. Maria is also an active member of the firm's Center of Excellence on Crypto and Other Digital Assets, a dedicated group of lawyers who consolidate and leverage the firm's extensive expertise in the crypto sector.
