Luke advises on complex international commercial arbitrations and arbitration-related court litigation before the English courts.
He has experience advising and acting on high value commercial and construction arbitrations, including under the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, HKIAC and WIPO Rules. Luke has specialised experience acting for clients in the energy, infrastructure, financial services, pharmaceutical, intellectual property and technology sectors, and on disputes related to international sanctions. He has acted in disputes under a variety of governing laws, including English, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Lao law.
 
Luke was previously seconded to A&O Shearman’s International Arbitration team in Tokyo, where he advised on construction and post-M&A disputes with a particular focus on Southeast Asia.

  • A project company in a SIAC arbitration relating to the construction of a hydroelectric dam in Laos. 
  • A multinational bank in defending an LCIA arbitration brought by a Russian bank for payment under an ISDA termination agreement following the imposition of UK and EU sanctions.
