Lisa advises on project finance, acquisition finance and corporate finance across energy, natural resources and infrastructure (ENRI).
Her experience spans both emerging and developed markets, and she has advised on complex multi-jurisdictional projects in more than 50 countries. She has extensive experience advising on projects throughout their lifecycle, acting for sponsors as well as international commercial, private and multilateral lenders on major project financings, often involving bespoke offtake, royalty or streaming structures and structured commodity trades.
 
A key part of her practice is focused on energy transition and sustainability finance, including the financing of carbon offset generation projects, ESG-aligned investments in both the public and private sectors, and renewables and critical minerals projects.
 
Lisa has practiced in the UK, Africa and Australia. She is recognised by the Legal 500 for her work in Project Finance, Banking & Finance and Natural Resources in the Asia-Pacific region.

Experience

Representative matters

  • Anglo American on a portfolio of secured and unsecured prepayment finance, development finance and offtake arrangements with Australian mining companies for commodities including coking coal and iron ore. 
  • Appian Capital and its funds on a royalty-backed fully limited recourse project financing of ASX-listed Mayur Resources Limited’s Central Lime Project in Papua New Guinea. 
  • Eurasian Resources on the development and financing of its copper and cobalt mine in the DRC through a Chinese EPC contractor and its copper cathode offtake and prepayment arrangements with its Chinese offtaker.
  • International Seabed Authority (an organ of the United Nations) on the royalty and payment mechanisms to be included in the draft Regulations for the deep sea mining of polymetallic nodules in international waters, and drafting the relevant sections of the Regulations under UNCLOS. 
  • Nomura Securities on the pre-notice to proceed portfolio financing provided to Amp Energy for the development of three BESS projects in Australia and the UK, including the Bungama BESS in South Australia. 
  • A large global investment manager on the financing of Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners' acquisition of a 25% interest in a circa US$2.4B / 376MW offshore Formosa II Wind Farm project in Taiwan. 
  • Cygnum Capital and the Africa Go Green fund on two separate financings for multijurisdictional carbon credit projects for the distribution of clean cookstoves in Africa.
