MIG Solutions Manager

Katie works within A&O Shearman’s Market’s Innovation Group (MIG), a group of lawyers and developers who are focused on the creation of innovative solutions for clients to meet large-scale legal and regulatory challenges.

Katie has extensive knowledge of various legal technologies in the market as well as practical use of A&O Shearman’s legal tech solutions including generative artificial intelligence, machine learning, document automation, deal management, and data transformation and interrogation.
 
Katie has developed and marketed a number of proprietary MIG products for A&O Shearman’s clients and is a member of A&O Shearman’s cross-border Artificial Intelligence (AI) Working Group focused on providing AI advisory expertise to clients based on A&O Shearman’s first-hand experiences in managing legal risks in building and deploying generative AI internally.
 
Katie has advised some of the largest companies in the world on the deployment of legal technology systems and AI.

Experience

Representative matters

Client relationship team for ContractMatrix Draft, A&O Shearman’s proprietary generative AI-assisted contract drafting product developed in partnership with Harvey AI and Microsoft.

Assisted with the firm-wide roll out and training of generative AI third party system Harvey, becoming the first law firm in the world to deploy generative AI via Harvey.

Designed and implemented a comprehensive solution for an APAC private equity company to fully digitalize fund formation.

Development of IBORMatrix, an end-to-end AI-assisted solution to assist clients with the transition from LIBOR and other benchmarks to new risk-free interest rates at scale.

Coordination of LIBOR transition for a large US bank with business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions. Included two full-time on-premise secondments with the bank.

 

 

Pro bono

Katie works with Alice’s Arc US, a children’s cancer charity. Katie assisted with the charity’s incorporation, governance and manages its US financial accounts.
