Jochen, LL.M. (University of Michigan), is Head of the German Real Estate practice and a Civil Law Notary. 

He has advised numerous German and international investors on the sale, purchase and development of real estate portfolios and single assets which comprise all asset classes (residential, retail, office, logistics, brownfield). Another area of focus of Jochen’s practice are equity and debt transactions concerning distressed real estate. 

Jochen joined A&O Shearman from a leading international law firm, where he built up the real estate practice, heading it as a partner for nine years. He also teaches as a lecturer at the law faculties of Heidelberg and Münster universities.

Viridium Group on the EUR2.7bn sale of Generali Lebensversicherung AG's "Millennium Portfolio" to Commerz Real. The portfolio comprises 26 office, 14 residential and 9 retail properties with a total rental space of over 352,000 square metres in premium locations in Germany's top cities.

IGIS Asset Management and Hana Financial Investment on the acquisition and the financing of the acquisition of the Trianon skyscraper in Frankfurt from US investor Colony North Star.

Nuveen on the acquisition of the Landmark building Cube in Berlin, an office complex that controls itself via Artificial Intelligence, from CA Immo.

Patrizia Alternative Investments on numerous high-volume portfolio transactions concerning office, residential and retail centers at an aggregate transaction volume in excess of EUR 5bn.

Sale of international logistics portfolio of Kühne+Nagel to Blackstone comprising assets in Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Australia and New Zealand.
