Filipa Serra

Senior Associate

Filipa is a senior associate in the Global Projects, Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure group and based in Madrid.

She is Head of our Lusophone Desk and has developed particular expertise on projects and financings in Lusophone markets. She has a wide range of experience in project finance transactions, including advising sponsors, project companies, export credit agencies, development finance institutions and syndicate lenders on Energy (including LNG), Natural Resources and Infrastructure projects.

She also has experience advising on procurement documentation and negotiating PPPs, concession agreements and sovereign guarantees. Filipa was on secondment at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for a year and worked closely with the JBIC team on a number of projects and financings in Africa, including Mozambique and Angola, Southeast Asia and Central Asia.

She has relocated to Madrid from the firm’s Tokyo office. She was previously in our Johannesburg office and Dubai office. Before joining the firm she worked in Portugal and opened a Portuguese law firm’s office in Timor-Leste, became the country manager for that office and advised clients investing in the upcoming PPP market.

Filipa is a part of our Hydrogen Interest Group, a Portuguese native speaker and fluent in English.
