Edward McCullagh

Senior Associate

Edward is a Senior Associate specialising in dispute resolution and international arbitration.

He has been based in Dubai since 2019, and has broad experience of disputes from across the Middle East region.
 
Edward specialises in construction and engineering disputes arising out of large projects in the region and worldwide, and also regularly advises clients on contentious issues arising during the course of ongoing projects. In addition, Edward advises on commercial disputes and investigations for clients across a broad range of sectors, including financial services, automotive, oil and gas, shipping, defence and mining.
 
Prior to joining the Middle East team, Edward worked in London, Yokohama and Hong Kong, and has spent time on secondment to a global bank, and a multi-national automotive manufacturer. Edward also worked for two years as an Investment Manager and Senior Legal Counsel at the Dubai offices of a leading global litigation funder.
 
Edward was ranked by Legal 500 as a Key Lawyer for Dispute Resolution – Arbitration and International Litigation in 2021 and 2022, with referees describing him as a “star associate”. Edward has also been ranked as a Thought Leader for Third Party Funding in the UAE (Who’s Who Legal, 2024), and is a frequent speaker and panellist on the topic of legal finance across the Middle East region.
