Diederik specialises in pension law representing international and national companies, insurers and pension funds – delivering strategic, business minded advice.
Diederik advises and litigates on a wide range of pension related issues such as changes in pension schemes, indexation issues, mandatory participation in industry wide pension funds, the Future Pensions Act (major pension reform in the Netherlands), pension aspects of transactions and restructurings, outsourcing, regulatory issues, and pension fund governance.
 
Prior to joining A&O Shearman, Diederik worked over twenty years in the field of pensions, including 17 years specifically in pension law.
 
Diederik regularly publishes on subjects in his field, and is a member of various professional associations.
