Dan is a leading tech and telecoms lawyer with extensive experience advising clients across a broad range of complex commercial transactions and industry sectors.

His practice sits at the intersection of digital infrastructure, AI and strategic partnerships, with a particular focus on the telecoms value chain.

In the telecoms sector, Dan has worked across fixed, mobile, satellite and subsea networks. His experience spans network rollouts, infrastructure and network sharing arrangements, carve outs and lease back structures, as well as IoT, AI enabled projects, large scale transformation programmes and outsourcing.

His broader technology work includes advising on technology product development and distribution, cloud and data centres arrangements, digital transformation and complex system integration projects, and major procurement and outsourcing engagements.

  • American Tower Corporation, on its bids to acquire the respective tower portfolios of Optus (70% valued at AUD1.9bn) and Axicom (100% valued at AUD3.6bn) in Australia. 
  • Microsoft, on its launch of various of telecommunications products in Australia, including Teams, Skype, and b2b VoIP products. 
  • TPG on launching numerous telecommunications products, including managed private networks and IoT solutions.
