 Arwien specializes in real estate law and related notarial law.

He has worked on a wide variety of real estate transactions, including advising on commercial real estate transactions, sale and lease back transactions, property development (including advising on joint ventures), development and financing of renewable projects (including advising on bankable terms and conditions in respect of property rights in rem) and the provision of security in (real estate) project finance transactions.

After joining the firm in 2016, Arwien was initially part of the corporate notarial team for two years where he advised public and private companies on general notarial corporate law matters, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings.

EdgeConneX, the EQT-owned data center developer and operator, on its EUR 2.4bn sustainability-linked (re)financing of the EdgeConneX pan-EMEA data center portfolio across seven jurisdictions providing CapEx facilities to support future developments.

Vattanfall on the EUR 500m sale of the 1,4GW ‘Hydrogen ready’ gas fired powered power plant located in the Eemshaven in Groningen.

Fattal Hotels on the acquisition of Dutch hotel company European Hotel Management, which owns the Apollo Hotels chain. As part of the EUR160m acquisition, our client acquired all 13 Apollo hotels in the Netherlands.

Roompot on the acquisition of Qurios, a holiday park operator with 4 existing parks in the Netherlands and 5 development projects across Europe.

The commercial lenders, EIB and export credit agencies, on the amendment and restatement project financing of the 600MW far offshore wind farm Gemini. This was the largest renewable project financing in Europe of the Gemini wind farm located outside the Dutch 12-mile zone, approximately 75 km off the Dutch coast.

The lenders in relation to the project financing of the 380 MW Wind Park Fryslân which is located near-shore in the IJsselmeer.

3i Infra and DWS on the sale of waste processing company Attero including advising on the environmental and real estate aspects of its energy from waste activities.

Vattenfall on the divestment via controlled auction of 32 turbines of its Prinses Ariane onshore windfarm to a.s.r.

Jumbo on the acquisition and subsequent sale and lease back of a supermarket portfolio to a fund managed by Annexum.

Booking.com, the world leader in online reservations of accommodations, on the development and acquisition of its global headquarters in Amsterdam.
