Andrew has experience in a wide range of asset financing and leasing transactions, with a particular focus on the aviation sector.

He has advised airlines, banks, leasing companies, insurance companies and export credit agencies across a spectrum of aviation matters including secured and unsecured commercial debt financings, capital markets transactions (including enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs)), ABS, AFIC and Itasca transactions, Japanese operating leases, pre-delivery payment financing, export credit agency related transactions, operating leasing, individual aircraft and portfolio sales, negotiation of engine maintenance contracts and engine financing.

Andrew has completed client secondments with International Airlines Group (IAG), Barclays Bank PLC, and Citibank, N.A.

Representative matters

AviLease on its first USD1.1bn unsecured financing facility comprising conventional and Shari’a complaint branches. Debt Deal of the Year, Airline Economics 2023.  

Cathay Pacific on its USD350mn revolving credit facility secured against a portfolio of aircraft. Editors’ Deal of the Year, Airfinance Journal.

Turkish Airlines in relation to the first Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificate (EETC) issuance for a Turkish Airline. This was awarded EETC Deal of the Year by Global Transport Finance.  

Aldus Aviation on its landmark debt refinancing by its ABS issuance.
