Amelia Ikin

Amelia advises on a broad range of commercial disputes, with a particular focus on the energy and resources sector.

She also has experience in transactional and general corporate advisory work.

Prior to joining the firm, Amelia acted as associate to the Hon. Justice Strk of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Amelia holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Australia, graduating with distinction.

Representative matters

Fortescue Metals Group in relation to a compensation claim brought against it in relation to activities undertaken at its Solomon Hub Mine. 

SK E&S in relation to its development of the Barossa project, including detailed analysis and assistance in relation to various legal challenges brought against the project.

A global resources corporation on a dispute relating to the recovery of Banked Gas under the gas supply agreement.

OreCorp in relation to a proposed Scheme of Arrangement with Silvercorp Metals.

Reed Industrial Minerals on defence of claims by Roseland Capital and Murray Ward against RIM, relating to fees claimed it is entitled to for allegedly introducing Ganfeng/GFL as an offtake buyer of lithium concentrate, and equity holder in Reed Industrial Metals. 

 

 

Pro bono

Advised the Frank Konecny Community Centre on obtaining status as a deductible gift recipient.
