With a practice focusing on utility-scale and distributed renewable energy, Alec structures and negotiates transactions across the capital stack—including construction and term debt, back-leverage facilities, mezzanine financing, tax equity and transferability structures, and portfolio-level and warehouse financings.

Representative matters

  • ATLAS SP Partners as arranger for USD225 million construction and term facility to support Radial Power’s pipeline and operating platform of distributed generation projects, encompassing both asset- and portfolio-level, turnkey integrated commercial & industrial (C&I) and community solar projects. The transaction represents Radial Power’s inaugural portfolio-level debt financing.
  • ATLAS SP Partners as arranger for a USD300m warehouse facility to Distributed Solar Development (DSD) to finance a portfolio of commercial, industrial and distributed generation projects across the United States and as underwriter for the USD155m solar asset-backed securitization to DSD, which was the first C&I ABS successfully taken to market.
  • The Coordinating Lead Arrangers in an approximately USD250 million construction to term facility and letter of credit facility to a US renewable energy developer for a utility scale solar project in New Mexico.
  • Rabobank and CIBC, as lenders and issuing banks, in a senior secured bridge loan facility to a US utility and power generation company.
  • Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE), as sponsor, on multiple construction to term financings and tax equity financings of LRE’s utility-scale solar and wind projects throughout the United States.
  • A global financial institution in the hybrid tax equity financings of a nationwide portfolio of community solar and commercial and industrial (C&I) solar and storage projects being developed by affiliates of Brookfield Renewable.
  • Multiple Fortune 500 companies, as buyers, in the purchase of renewable energy tax credits.
