Alara Hanci

Alara focuses her practice on dispute resolution with an emphasis in financial enforcement.

She advises on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters including U.S. sanctions programs (including those administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury), sustainability and ESG, potential anti-bribery/corruption/money laundering issues, corporate reporting and disclosure, governance and risk management, international economic law, and international climate law. She also advises private and State clients in commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, both ad hoc and under the ICSID, ICC, AAA, and ICDR, rules, and in enforcement of arbitral award litigations before U.S. state and federal courts.
 
During law school, Alara served as an extern for the U.S. Department of Treasury General Counsel’s Office for International Affairs through University of Pennsylvania Law School’s Legislative Clinic Program. She also competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law.
 
Alara maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in immigration proceedings and advising human rights advocacy organizations on international and domestic matters relating to racial discrimination, wrongful arrest and inhumane detention, and freedom of speech.
